DV360 minimum spend: what's the real floor?

There's no official platform minimum. There is a practical one — and it's usually set by fees, not a spend threshold.

Guide · last reviewed February 2026

DV360 has no fixed minimum spend. The real floor is set by your partner's minimum monthly fee. Direct Google contracts often expect around $50,000/month in media; partners bring the entry point down considerably, sometimes to a few thousand dollars in monthly fees. Below that floor, the fees claim too much of your budget to be worth it.

Is there an official minimum?

Not a published one. Google doesn't set a hard spend floor for DV360 itself. What creates a practical minimum is the fee structure: a partner's minimum monthly fee, and the point below which the platform's advantages no longer outrun its costs.

The floor that actually binds: minimum fees

Most partners set a minimum monthly fee. Below a certain spend, that fee — not the headline percentage — decides your cost. A partner quoting 10% with a $4,000 monthly minimum charges you $4,000 whether your spend implies $2,000 or $4,000, so at low volumes a low rate with a high floor can cost more than a high rate with none. This is the single most important thing to check at the bottom of the market.

Direct vs partner entry points

RouteTypical entry commitment
Direct Google contract~$50k/mo media, often six-figure annual
GMP sales partnerFar lower; set by the partner's minimum fee

The minimum depends less on the platform than on the door you walk through to reach it. The routes are covered in how to get DV360 access.

Model your floor

Enter a low spend in the comparison tool and watch the ranking change — partners with high minimums jump to the top, and their rows show "at minimum." That's the floor made visible.

When you're below the floor

If your display and video budget is small and your spend is search-heavy, DV360's fees will represent a large share of your budget, and Google Ads alone may serve you better until you grow. More on that in DV360 for small business.

Common questions

What is the minimum monthly spend for DV360?

There's no official platform minimum. Direct Google contracts often expect around $50,000 per month in media, while partners lower the entry point significantly. The binding constraint is usually the partner's minimum monthly fee.

Can I use DV360 with a small budget?

Technically yes through a partner, but below roughly $50k per month the fees and minimums claim a large share of your budget, which often makes it uneconomical compared with Google Ads.

How do partner minimum fees work?

A minimum monthly fee is the floor a partner charges regardless of your spend-based rate. At low volumes it can exceed what the percentage alone would imply, so it often decides your real cost.

Does a higher spend lower my DV360 rate?

Usually. Volume earns a lower platform-fee percentage, and it also moves you past minimum fees, so both the rate and the effective cost per dollar tend to fall as spend grows.
